Abstract

The aim of this work is to approach the diagnosis and treatment of caries damage in deep dentine from a biological and conservative approach. To understand the physiology and histopathology of the dentine-pulp complex, as well as the facts that keep the dentine damage active, are determinant elements that should be considered at the moment of doing restoring treatments. A review of scientific literature is done analyzing the dentin caries process, its diagnosis and treatment in clinical cases enabling complex dentin pulp response. The stage treatment as alternative to complete removal of the deep decayed dentine. The main is the capacity of the pulp response allowing a tissular response to avoid pulp exposures, giving the patient a  preventive and integral treatment.
