Resumo
El uso de quelantes como irrigantes previo a la medicación tópica y a la obturación, es relevante para lograr un correcto saneado y adaptación del material de obturación a las paredes del conducto.
El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar y comparar in vitro, la capacidad de limpieza y remoción del barrillo dentinario de las paredes del conducto y canalículos, luego de la instrumentación, con diferentes irrigantes. En la irrigación final se utilizó NaOCI, EDTA 17%, Quelant (preparado comercial con EDTA) y ácido cítrico 10% y 25%.
Posteriormente se cortaron las coronas y las raíces fueron seccionadas longitudinalmente y examinadas en el MEB en sus tres tercios. Los resultados mostraron que el NaOCI con un quelante mostraron diferentes grados de limpieza. Con Quelant y ácido cítrico en sus dos concentraciones, se lograron resultados satisfactorios
