Abstract

The relationship between clinical teaching in Dentistry and the development of a preventive-assistance professional profile is addressed.

Objective: To analyze how clinical teaching in Operative Dentistry contributes to the development of a preventive-assistance profile among dental students.

Methodology: Based on the hermeneutical paradigm, a qualitative approach is adopted using semi-structured interviews with teachers and students of the Operative Technique, Operative dentistry 1 and 2 subunits. An intentional sampling of interviews will be carried out, with a guiding script and with saturation criteria. Based on the segmentation and recording of each interview, the dimensions of analysis in relation to clinical teaching in Operative dentistry and its contribution to training in the preventive-care profile will be defined.

Expected Results: To generate inputs to propose strategies to strengthen the preventive-care approach in the clinical teaching of Operative dentistry, promoting its impact on professional training and oral health indicators.
